Learn diving in a group or individually

All. Decision is made. You decided to become a diver. And they even found a club and chose an instructor who will nibble on the granite of diving science. The thing is small – sign up, pay for the course and start practicing. It remains only to decide how – individually or in a group of the same afflicted as you? At first glance, it seems that the answer is obvious – of course, individual lessons are better! But do not rush to answer. Let’s try to figure out what’s what.

What is good for individual lessons? The fact that all the attention of the instructor will be devoted to you – beloved (or beloved). Well, and, it seems, there will be enough time to not only demonstrate, but also repeat all the skills several times in order to properly consolidate them.

And now let’s think about what can be obtained in group classes?

Firstly, in theoretical classes in the class it does not matter how many people listen to the instructor – one or ten. The information is the same. Moreover, some of your group neighbors may ask interesting questions or give life examples that will help you better understand the material. As for the pool, with proper organization, the whole group manages to complete not only the program completely, but even just swim and have fun, or even dance with each other underwater.

Secondly, a partner is required to complete many diving skills. Moreover, it is advisable to have the same entry level as you, so that the exercises are as close as possible to the real conditions. Indeed, if an instructor plays the role of a partner in an individual course, then in real life they can be any person, including one who is completely unprepared. And being engaged in a group, you will definitely get such a partner.

Thirdly, amateur diving – for the most part, is a group activity. Individuals are not welcome. And getting used to the “friendly shoulder” is best from the very beginning. After all, this lesson relates to extreme forms of leisure. And if you run out of air or you get tired, then the first person to come to your aid will be your partner, the “buddy”, as he is called here.

Fourth, to whom will you tell: “What a healthy fish did you see under water ?!” Or with whom do you share your impressions of how it turns out that under water you can breathe just as easily as in air? Of course, with your buddy. And in the evening, sit together in the warm company of newly acquired friends – like-minded people.

Fifth, in the end, an individual lesson is significantly more expensive than a group one. And the very tangible savings from the group course never bothered anyone. And the money saved is better spent on the purchase of good diving equipment.

Well, if you want an individual approach, but the question rests on finances, who prevents you from getting training in a mini-group – 2-4 people? It combines all the advantages of individual and group classes and, perhaps, is the best combination for training.

And the most important thing. After completing the course, passing the Open Water and receiving the coveted certificate, you will return again and again to your club, to the company of friends you made during your studies. You will now be connected with these people for a long time. And even for many years. After all, you will go with them to the daily and safari. To Egypt and the Maldives. Immerse yourself under the ice and climb the holds of sunken ships. And even, you will roller skate and ski with them, celebrate birthdays, go to weddings or just wander around in your big city in big company …
