Regulators from Cressi-Sub

Regulators from Cressi-Sub are not as widely known in our country as Aqua Lung, Apeks or Poseidon. The fact is that the company does not make equipment for particularly difficult (arctic) operating conditions. There are no dry suits, technical “wings” in the assortment of the offered products, and there are no particularly “cold-resistant” regulators. But any of its products is really high-quality, brought to perfection and will satisfy any consumer with ordinary recreational diving. The current range of regulators consists of three series – XS, Airtech, Ellips. Any of the models in the line is very reliable with proper use and the usual basic care, which is determined by the reasonable design and European culture. The most modern series is Ellips, available in three versions. It is distinguished by an extremely beautiful and elegant design, compact size, low weight, competent selection of materials and very high-quality assembly. For our conditions, the most interesting are the Ellips Titanium and Ellips Alaska models. The first model has a reliable diaphragm gearbox in the DIN and YOKE versions, the lung machine is equipped with a front cover made of lightweight and durable “eternal” titanium. The regulator provides excellent breathing characteristics at any (reasonable, defined by European standards) depth, at any air pressure in the cylinder. It is not positioned by the company as “cold-resistant” and is intended for operation at temperatures above + 8-10 ° C. The second model, Alaska, is the company’s first attempt to enter the cold water market. This regulator is designed for “extremely cold water”, ie, in fact, for diving in arctic latitudes. For this, the first stage, similar in design to Titanium, is equipped with a “dry” chamber, and the second stage also has a titanium front cover, which improves the heating of the lung machine with ambient water. Perhaps other tricks, including special adjustments, have been applied. In the near future, Alaska will undergo serious practical tests in the conditions of winter Baikal. They will reveal the suitability of its operation in the polar regions.

And finally, wrist computers. The super-popular “Archimedes”, which has become a real bestseller of the market, has been replaced by an updated Archimed II model. The statistics of the predecessor was very positive – out of 30,000 computers sold, less than 700 pieces were returned to the factory for various reasons, which is a very good indicator. The new version of Archimedes uses the same time-tested Bulman algorithm (for 12 types of fabrics), designed to use two different gas mixtures (Nitrox up to 50%), switching to which can be done directly in the water. Extremely user-friendly interface, memory for 60 dives (or 30 hours), built-in fluorescent backlight, port for connecting to a personal computer, which allows you to track the profile of dives with a resolution of 30 seconds, viewing angle of the screen 170 degrees, just huge, easy to read numbers on it , large control buttons with a rather compact body – all these are the advantages of Archimed II. Plus an independently replaceable publicly available lithium battery CR2032, a Japanese chip from Seiko (!), Successful tests in Germany at a depth of 100 m at a temperature of + 2 ° C (!). Outstanding amateur computer!

And the model is a bit simpler, but compact, in the format of a watch. EDY! Both for divers and apnos. The same user-friendly interface, almost the same functions, except the ability to switch to the second mixture. The battery is designed for 3 years of operation (50 dives per year), but does not change on its own, alas, only in the service center. Mineral, non-scratching glass, stainless steel bezel, covering a sturdy case made of a reliable technopolymer, the ability to connect to a PC and recording instrument readings every second (!) In free mode – rejoice apnos and hunters!

As we can see, the elder of the diving industry still does not lose ground. 60 years (!) On the cutting edge of progress were not in vain, the accumulated gigantic potential continues fruitful activity for the benefit of all divers. The world famous company offers an extremely reasonable, high-quality, safe and balanced line of equipment and gear for all recreational diving needs. The company works for the consumer, and many thanks to her for that!
