Diving in Egypt: all on the reefs!
Egypt is a favorite destination for diving trips. The Red Sea attracts divers with its water, which has an almost constant temperature at any time of the year, as well as perfect transparency and salinity. In addition, in the Red Sea, with its warm and clear water, there is a huge number of representatives of the underwater flora and fauna, which is of interest to lovers of wildlife. Visiting coral reefs with their unique beauty, unique fauna and fanciful colorful corals is one of the main goals of tourists in Egypt. All this makes diving in Egypt popular at any time of the year, and Egypt itself is a leader in the list of regions best for diving.
The variety of diving conditions in Egypt makes it possible to organize diving tours of varying degrees of difficulty. Beginners will find excellent conditions for training, and experienced divers can enjoy exciting underwater adventures or improve their skills. Diving in Egypt provides ample opportunities for training, since there are a large number of diving centers that organize both daily dives for beginners and diving safaris, intended mainly for experienced swimmers. One of the most popular places in the Red Sea is Sharm el-Sheikh, where the main contingent of Europeans vacationers are divers.
No less interesting place in Egypt is rightfully considered Dahab – a small town, which can be reached from Sharm el-Sheikh airport in half an hour. The conditions for diving, as in many resort cities of Egypt, in Dahab are ideal, but the prices are slightly lower due to its lesser popularity compared to Hurghada or Sharm el-Sheikh. The most exciting adventure in a diver’s life can be night diving in Dahab, where there is the famous Canyon – a favorite place for diving for the most sophisticated scuba divers. It is in the Canyon that mirror fish live, creating at night in the light of a lantern the unique effect of the fantastic dance of luminous fish.
Of course, diving in Egypt has not only advantages, but also its drawbacks, the main of which, noted by many Russian tourists, are the language barrier and the uniform food in hotels. Having arrived in Egypt, a Russian who does not speak English well is at risk of getting into an unpleasant story, not being able to communicate in the same language with a diving instructor from a local center. There is only one solution: learn English or stock up on a good phrasebook. As for the monotonous dishes offered to tourists in not too expensive hotels, then, given that the purpose of a trip to Egypt is diving, not cooking, this circumstance can be overcome. Aren’t you gentlemen divers?
Today, the following types of knives exist: hunting, combat, survival knives, sports, throwing, household, as well as souvenir. The knife for the diver belongs to the category of sports and is one of the most important elements of equipment. There are no unnecessary things in the diver’s equipment, but the need for a knife should be discussed separately. Its main purpose is not hunting at all, as some people far from scuba divers might have suggested. In most cases, a diving knife is used as a device for digging and loosening the soil, overcoming various obstacles, such as, for example, fishing nets, and as a screwdriver when a more reliable fastening is needed, or installing any new part during repair work under water.
Diving knives have a number of distinctive features, as, among other things, other special purpose knives. One of such distinctive features is the increased strength of the metal, as well as a wide variety of types and designs of diving knives. Each of these types has an individual design and is designed for a certain type of work. For example, the presence of length marks on the blade of a knife means that it can be used to measure something. If, in its design, the end of the blade is chopped off, this means that this knife is used for various types of excavations. Knives for scuba divers, due to the large number of varieties, should be chosen very carefully for each dive, so that they have exactly the functions that will be useful to you during the planned dive.
Titanium knives for diving – this is a separate category of knives, characterized by high strength and anti-magnetic properties. They also have a relatively low weight compared to conventional knives made of stainless steel. The low weight of the diving equipment is an important quality, often the determining factor when choosing, because when diving, each gram of the additional weight of the equipment affects the comfort and efficiency of movement.
